Memorial Day Fun!

This past week has been a crazy one at our house with all of the end of the school year programs and parties at the kids school. Ellie graduated from preshool, Zach kindergarten and Matthew from 3rd grade. For Memorial Day this year I wanted to take my kids to see my Dads grave and to put flowers on it to honor him. This was a big event and a important holiday for my family growing up. I remember my Dad spending the morining going through our yard cutting different flowers and making beautiful arrangements that we would put on my grandparents and great grandparents graves. I also remember my Dad putting flowers on the graves of people who didn't have any flowers. This was a very important holiday to him and I want to be able to carry on the tradition with my own children.

Also for Memorial Day we spent the day at Lagoon. The company that Diana and I work for pay for all the families to go each year. It's really nice because it is a really slow day there and we're able to get on all the rides with no lines. (perfect for the kids) This year was especially good because it was raining and there was hardly anyone there so we got to ride all the rides with no waiting. You can tell by the picture below that it was a cold, yucky day with all of us in our ponchos. By the end of the day the sun came out and they declared it a "rain day" so we get to bounce back for free on another day so I guess we really lucked out!

Planting Flowers

I spent the weekend planting my flowers. It's been such nice weather and they say you're safe in planting them if you wait until after Mother's Day so I'll be crossing my fingers it doesn't freeze. One year I planted them about this time and we got a cold wave of freezing temperatures. I remember, me, my Mom and Josh outside covering the flowers with sheets. It was a BIG pain and I don't want to have to do that again. I planted Petunia's that are hot pink, white, and hot pink and white striped. I also planted some Lobelia and a tall flower called Stock. I will post more pictures later in the summer when they're blooming big and pretty! Also below is a beautiful flower pot that Josh's mom gave me for Mother's Day. I love it. Thanks Ann!!!!

Pictures of Gracie

I thought I'd post a few pictures of Gracie. When I pull out the camera to take pictures she says, "Gracie picture mama," over and over and over again until I take a picture of her and show it to her. So most pictures I take are of her as I'm sure you can all tell.

Update on Gracie's Tooth

Not sure if anyone's interested but here's the update on Gracie's tooth. We were going to have it pulled out this coming Wednesday because it's not set in her mouth, but it has started to fall down where we can see it and since I was mainly wanting to have it replaced we decided to wait and let it fall out on it's own. I wasn't really up for having her put under and since she's fallen and bumped it about five times since she shoved it up into her gums, I'm pretty sure she'll either knock it out her self or it will fall out on its own. We just have to watch it to make sure she doesn't get an infection. Hopefully I'm making the right decision....stay tuned...!!!!!
